MARTINA VEH

Her interest in all aspects of music theatre, dance and performance art has manifested itself in a variety of projects encapsulating many styles of production in which she not only directs, but on occasion writes the texts, choreographs the dance and movement, and designs the lighting. For years she workes often with the video-duo fettfilm (Torge Moller / Momme Hinrichs).

 

Various projects have taken her to West-Tibet, China, India, and later to London, New York, Le Mans, Paris, Amsterdam, Madrid, Taschkent (Usbekistan), Edinburgh and Budapest, where she was from 2003 to 2008 Professor in "Stage Performance for Singers" at the Franz Liszt Music Academy.

 

The director Martina Veh started her musical education from very early on. Among others was her piano teacher Prof. Werner Grewe, student of Artur Schnabel (piano). She studied in early years classical and modern dance as well as composition and conducting.


She graduated from Theaterakademie August Everding in 1999, where she got classes by Harry Kupfer, Jürgen Flimm, David Pountney, Bruce Myers (Peter Brook) und Roy Foudree (Wooster Group New York), having already previously graduated with an diploma of engineering in Architecture at the Technical University Munich in 1995 with Prof. Friedrich Kurrent from Vienna (Sacred architecture).

 

awards: She won several press awards and her own projects were sponsored by Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung in Cooperation with BR-Klassik, German Fonds of Performing Arts, Cultural Funds of the City of Munich, Casa Mann e.V., Culture Department of the District of Upper Bavaria, Aktion Mensch “Human Campaign”, Statal Department for Work and Economy, Munich City Award for Young Artists/New media within the scope of music (together with composer Alexander Strauch), Bavarian State Bank, Cultural Fond Stadtsparkasse Munich, Culture-award of the City of Wolfratshausen, Onassis Foundation, Ingrid Werndl-Laue Foundation, Christoph und Stephan Kaske Foundation and others. 

 

she worked for Sächsische Staatsoper Dresden, Queen Elisabeth Hall London, Theater Erfurt, Prinzregententheater München, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, the joung Ensemble of Bayerische Staatsoper,Theater Winterthur, Cuvilliés Theater München, Mainfrankentheater Würzburg, Theater Lübeck, Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern, Landestheater Niederbayern, Masterclass Opera at Theaterakademie August Everding, Springfestival Budapest, MÜPA Budapest, The Helix Theatre Dublin, Händelfestspiele Halle and Biennale München etc.
