We find ourselves in a cell with Barabbas - the prisoner released in the trial of Jesus - shortly before his death, after an unexpectedly "given" life. In the light of his own fate, he poses the question of free will, the dignity of courage and fear in human beings and the mutability of the myths and stories that shape a society.
